Therapeutic Harp Music

Stephanie is trained as a Certified Music Practitioner (CMP), a musician who plays live therapeutic music to provide a healing environment for all present, especially those who are ill or transitioning. Certified Music Practitioners work in various settings including hospitals, hospice and home care settings as well as other non-traditional settings. The music is provided as a service and is not intended as a performance. Since the music is live, the CMP tailors all of musical pieces to a patient’s or groups immediate needs at any given moment.

Certified Music Practitioners (CMPs) are trained through The Music for Healing and Transition Program (MHTP), which is accredited by the National Standards Board of Therapeutic Musicians

Stephanie primarily uses the harp for her CMP work but she has also incorporated the soothing tones of flute when appropriate. Currently, Stephanie plays therapeutic harp music within the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. In August 2021, she helped to create the first Vibroacosutic Harp therapy practice for Veterans at the Heniz Campus VA Hospital. She also offers monthly Vibroacoustic Harp Therapy sessions for students at the Western Pennsylvania School for the Blind.

She also provides live improvised music for Gentle and Restorative Yoga classes, helping to create an atmosphere of healing that compliments the benefits of this yoga practice.
