FREE Community Drum Circle
Location: Duquesne University
Time: 7 PM to 8:30 PM
This is a community drum circle hosted by the Duquesne University Music Therapy Program. We'll begin drumming at 7pm and go until 8:30pm. We place an emphasis on building community, listening and playing together, and making an enjoyable and musical experience for everyone. It's a safe place to come out and try new things from picking up a new instrument and playing for the first time to playing with a different level of awareness and connection to the other group members. This is a facilitated circle and our goal is to guide the group to be the most musical and safe environment for everyone that it can be!
We'll be meeting in our usual location, room 322 of the Mary Pappert School of Music on Duquesne University's campus. As always, the event is free and we have drums to share!
For a campus map, go to http://www.duq.edu/about/map.cfm.
You can park on the streets of Pittsburgh for free after 6pm, or in one of the campus parking garages. Another option is to park downtown and to take one of the buses to the Duquesne campus. Look to www.portauthority.org for information regarding the bus schedules and routes. The 61s and 71s come up from downtown near the campus. Parking on the city streets is free after 6pm.
