II. Allemande from Cello Suite No. 1 by J.S. Bach for Hammered Dulcimer
II. Allemande from Cello Suite No. 1 by J.S. Bach for Hammered Dulcimer
This is sheet music for the second movement from Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 arranged for Hammered Dulcimer.
This is an arrangement of the Allemande, the second movement of Cello Suite No. 1 by J.S. Bach.
The Allemande is a medium-paced dance, somewhat serious in mood and tone. Unlike the constant flow of the previous movement, the Prelude, the Allemande has a number of dotted eight note pauses, moments of brief rest in the dance.
The music is the same as the original only raised an octave to fit the range of the hammered dulcimer.
Included are two versions of this movement from Bach’s Cello Suite #1. One is a blank copy of the music, allowing you to make any notations or marks that you find helpful. The second version is the transcription of how I have chosen to play the movement. A description of the marking system I use is included.
The range of this movement is D3 to G5. This arrangement is the same for both 15/14 and full-sized hammered dulcimers.
