Angels' Song for Solo Lever Harp - Stephanie Miller
Angels' Song for Solo Lever Harp - Stephanie Miller
Angels’ Song is a lullaby that Stephanie improvised while working as a Certified Music Practitioner at UPMC Children’s Hospital. It is dedicated to all of the patients, families, and staff who have a connection with the facility.
The song is divided into three distinct sections. These sections can be repeated or rearranged to make the song as long or as short as needed. It is a nice beginning piece for a musical set since it is a song that is easy to modify quickly. She often uses Angels’ Song to get a feel for the atmosphere at an event or when she starts to play in a hospital environment.
While playing this piece Stephanie has heard people describe the song as if they were surrounded by loving arms in a gentle hug or that angels’ wings had enfolding them in their loving care, which is how the song got its name. Playing this piece has helped many people relax and fall asleep peacefully in various hospital settings. She has also used this piece for christenings and memorial services.
The video of the song below showcases one of the great features of her harp, its color-changing LED lights. This video was taken at The Barn at Ligonier Valley (http://www.barnatligoniervalley.com) at a wedding reception.
