This piece has a contemplative dream-like feel to it, which what inspired the title "Dreaming." This song is dedicated to the memory of Stephanie’s father, Marshall Brett Hickman. It is also dedicated to Stephanie and Robert’s aunt, Debbie Ferron. This song was first debuted at the Third Street Coffee House in Roanoke, VA, and thus is affectionately known as The Third Street Suite. Dreaming has been featured in the Radford University documentary Ireland: A Literary Journey. The song is reflective in nature and it has a waltz like feel.

This new arrangement demonstrates how a song can develop over time through continued performance and improvisation.

The video below was recorded at Morraine State Park, PA. Some of Stephanie’s fondest memories of my father are of us playing at the shoreline with my little toy boat so I was especially excited to see the footage of the sailboat in the background.
