IV. Sarabande from Cello Suite No. 1 by J.S. Bach for Hammered Dulcimer
IV. Sarabande from Cello Suite No. 1 by J.S. Bach for Hammered Dulcimer
This is sheet music for the fourth movement from Cello Suite No. 1 by J.S. Bach arranged for Hammered Dulcimer.
This is an arrangement of the Sarabande, the fourth movement from Cello Suite No. 1 by J.S. Bach, arranged for hammered dulcimer. The Sarabande is a slow, stately dance in triple meter. One of the characteristics of this type of dance is the emphasis on the second beat of the measure, appearing here through the use of rolled chords or longer notes.
The music is the same as the original only raised an octave to fit the range of the hammered dulcimer. The range for this movement is C3 to D5. An arrangement of this movement for 15/14 hammered dulcimer is available in the store.
Included with this arrangement are two versions of this movement from Bach’s Cello Suite #1. One is a blank copy of the music, arranged for the hammered dulcimer, allowing you to make any notations or marks that you find helpful. The second version is the transcription of how I have chosen to play the movement. A description of my marking system is included.
